| Jamie Gifford, BL Meyer, and
Richard Padden founded ExoMotion LLC
in January 2004. ExoMotion is
a resource for special needs seating, mobility, and sleep systems. Our
focus is on innovative, quality products designed and tested for use in
every day life.
Jamie and BL both came from Bodypoint Designs, manufacturer of high
quality secondary positioning products for people in wheelchairs. Jamie
was Vice President at Bodypoint, overseeing operations and product development.
Prior to that, Jamie was the lead upwind sail designer for Halsey Sailmakers,
specializing in high-end racing sails for yachts involved in grand
prix events like the America's Cup.
BL was the Marketing and Sales Manager at Bodypoint. She made
a significant impact on US and international sales; building internationals
sales from virtually nothing to 1/3 of all sales. Prior to
that, BL was the European Sales Manager at Seattle Foot (now Seattle
Systems), a leading manufacturer of prosthetic legs and feet.
Richard Padden is an attorney with the prominent Seattle firm
of Carney
Badley Spellman. Rich is on the Board of Directors at Tully's Coffee
and is a significant shareholder in a number of Northwest
based companies. Rich and his family are very active fundraisers
for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and many other organizations. |
While at Bodypoint, Jamie
and BL began importing and distributing Jenx® pediatric positioning
products. They found that the equipment was well received, but the path
from supplier to child didn't place much value on the parents (or caregivers)
involvement with their children. Parents, in a very real sense, are the
most knowledgeable about their child's needs. If parents can comfort their
child waking in pain every night, get through grocery shopping with
a child who cannot walk, and deal with complex medical issues, then
parents can surely make informed and intelligent decisions about adaptive
equipment.
ExoMotion is
founded on the idea that parents are the center
of decisions for their
children. Most ExoMotion products
are sold through medical equipment dealers, but the initial interest
is nearly always from parents. More than anything we strive to be
a friendly company. If your needs do not fit our products then
we will help you get to what is right. This type of equipment
is expensive. When Medicaid or private insurance doesn't work, we've
been very successful at helping families to connect with organizations
that help.
